Excellent video from Pennington's that was published Jan 3, 2015 with a fabulous message.
I love it! A must share!!

Body confidence and self-acceptance are topics that have grown in popularity over recent years.
Why? The fact of the matter is that our world is still filled with stigma, stereotypes and unrealistic expectations.
It’s time to reclaim power from a society that thinks we should look or act a certain way based on our appearance.
Instead of trying to change ourselves to fit an arbitrary standard, let’s change perceptions.
As advocates for body diversity and size acceptance, Pennington's want to work with you to create
a new convention: that beauty, strength, and confidence come in different sizes, shapes, and heights.

#iwontcompromise is a movement that celebrates doing what we love, wearing what makes us feel good,
and being who we are without compromise. No limits, no fears, no judgments, just pure enjoyment.
When we hold ourselves back in fear of how we may be perceived, society misses out.
Let them stare. Let them see what we can do. Let’s inspire them together.

  • What if Cinderella had swollen feet

Posted on January 4, 2016 by Wendy

    Happy New Year everyone.

I hope you had a good holidays and got some rest from the hustle and bustle.
The holidays can be very stressful and many of us feel the need to eat comfort food to release
that stress or our grandmothers say eat, eat, eat.

I know many people set goals to lose weight and most of the goals unfortunately don't get accomplished.
The reason being is that we set the goal because we allow what other people think to affect our New Years Resolutions.
I am constantly telling people to learn how to get to their "natural state of weight" and the
fad diets and yo you diets will disappear.

I love this article from Lisa Berry. I couldn't find it on her website however I read this on LinkedIn.
All credit goes to Lisa for this http://www.datingyourdiet.ca/

What If Cinderella had swollen feet??

We all know that the glass slipper fit. We all know that Cinderella lived happily ever after.
BUT what if on the very special day when the ministers came by the house for the girls to try on
the glass slipper Cinderella’s feet were swollen? What if she stuffed her emotions down with food
and hid from all her feelings of low self worth, not fitting in, feeling depressed with her living conditions,
never getting ahead in life? What if bags of potatoes chips, muffins, pasta, and cookies were her answers.
What if chocolate covered avoidance was her go to response?

I’ll share with you what would have happened. The glass slipper would never have fit and Cinderella would
have been left sitting there in the beautiful embroidered Victorian chair with her big old swollen water retention
foot and no prince and no happily ever after.

Imagine just for a moment that your life long dream, a once in a lifetime opportunity literally came to YOU,
right to your door, and you weren’t prepared? What if the decisions you were making, the actions you were taking
were ruining your chance for success? Holding you back from fitting in the exact life that you’d been dreaming of and were trying to create.
Imagine if your life was swollen and didn’t fit into your life’s magical glass slipper?

I remember when the word “success” was defined to me. When I heard it, everything just clicked.

“Success is when preparation meets opportunity”

What does a successful life look like to you?
What is your fairy tale life?
Are you prepared to slide into it like a glass slipper when it shows up?
When the opportunity presents itself to you?
Do you have the mindset that will motivate you into taking actions that propel you into your success?
Are you aware of the power and control you have in your very own life that puts you in the driver seat to choose
what foods you eat, what activities you participate in, what attitude you possess, what language you speak?
Do you realize that it is you who chooses the people in your life? Are you allowing wicked step-sisters and mothers
to dictate your daily activities, negative and hurtful emotions?

Choice is like a fairy godmother. The choices you make are like a granted wish.
That’s why they say… “Be careful of what you wish for”. It’s the same as when I say to myself,
”Lisa, be careful of what you choose, cause that’s what you’ll get.”

So how does one make choices that will get them to their fairy tale life?

How does one prepare so that when they meet opportunity they will have success?

I'm sure the night that Cinderella ran home with only one glass slipper and no prince that she opened
a few kitchen cupboards looking for comfort food. I'm sure she had the phone in her hand wanting to order a pizza.
I bet she even had a secret stash of gummies hiding beside her bed for some sugary satisfaction.
BUT in the end I believe that Cinderella had carefully thought about her decisions before hand.
She had questioned which actions would give her the results she desired and I’m pretty sure she hung onto her dream for a better life,
a free life, and a confidant life. She was aware that having the power to make her own choices,
her own wishes, that she would create the life she wanted.
So instead of eating any of those harmful and smothering foods and waking up with swollen feet,
that night she closed her eyes and laid her head on the pillow and held on tight to her dream of a life happily ever after.

Its all about being prepared for the day when your golden opportunity comes up...being the perfect fit when your life's dreams materialize...
its all about having the mindset and making the decisions that are congruent...that in alignment to what you're trying to create.

I wish you all a Happy New Year - 2016

  • 21 Days to Make or Break a Habit

Posted on December 12, 2015 by Wendy

They say it takes 21 days to make a new habit or break an old habit. Do you believe it?
I was doing a bit of research and science says, it can actually take up to 250 days .
Most people start to see a result sooner however the timing can be longer than 21 days.

As life changed for me in November I found myself struggling a bit and wondering if I was ever going
to feel like I had a routine again. I was so used to some old habits.

As each day passed I became more aware that I was having challenges accepting
my new surrounding, processes, and routines/habits.

It was after 3 weeks that suddenly I felt a heaviness lift me, and my habits and surroundings started
to feel like home again. I didn't even remember the 21 day rule and it automatically came to mind after
21 days. Amazing how that works.

I started to create different habits, different processes, and made some changes that first of all in my brain
were not acceptable to myself, however after 21 days they became like routine.
With routine came peace of mind and a renewed confidence.

So I thought I would remind you of the 21 day rule. Whether you believe it or not I think there is some
    truth to it.

Remember not to be so hard on yourself when you start something new. Whether it's a new job, new home,
weight lose program,or whatever it may be it takes time to adapt.
If you start and stop, start and stop, and think it will never become a habit, try and
remember the 21 day rule. Start there and chart your success.

I realize some of us are creatures of habit and we do not like change so much. I have always been
a person who could adapt well to change, new surroundings, new jobs, new processes.
Maybe it has to do with age that this time it was harder for me.

Either way, after 21 days I came to my "ah ha" moment, and stepped back into my greatness.
I am firm believer that everything happens for a reason and a lesson so this too brought
    new perspective to me.

Hoping that someone else can relate to this.

    Remember to always Be Fabulous!

    Luv Wendy

  • Powerful Message

Posted on December 10, 2015 by Wendy

    WOW.. Very powerful message.

I know some people don't have a big family and sometimes the holidays is sadness for them,
however there is someone who is waiting for you to celebrate the holidays with them to make them smile.
Whether they are family, friends, co-workers, the homeless, women in shelters, there is some one you
can give your heart and love to over the holidays.
Think about it... It doesn't have to be all about gifts, it's all about love

This video is an advert for German supermarket chain Edeka (English subs), which, like most great commercials, has very little to do with the actual product or service being advertised. It’s racked up almost 20 million views in three days with unanimous review

    Enjoy your holidays.

  • Choose Her Every Day

Posted on October 24, 2015 by Wendy

A friend of mine shared this today on Facebook and I wanted to share it with you all.
Whether you are in a relationship or not it is a MUST read. It's so insightful and true.

This was written by Bryan Reeves however the link to his site is not working unfortunately
but I wanted to make sure I gave credit to him.

Choose Her Every Day (Or Leave Her)

I spent 5 years hurting a good woman by staying with her but never fully choosing her.

I did want to be with this one. I really wanted to choose her.
She was an exquisite woman, brilliant and funny and sexy and sensual.
She could make my whole body laugh with her quick, dark wit and short-circuit my brain with her exotic beauty.
Waking up every morning with her snuggled in my arms was my happy place. I loved her wildly.

Unfortunately, as happens with many young couples, our ignorance of how to do love well quickly
created stressful challenges in our relationship. Before long, once my early morning blissful
reverie gave way to the strained, immature ways of our everyday life together,
I would often wonder if there was another woman out there who was easier to love, and who could love me better.

As the months passed and that thought reverberated more and more through my head,
I chose her less and less. Every day, for five years, I chose her a little less.

I stayed with her. I just stopped choosing her. We both suffered.

Choosing her would have meant focusing every day on the gifts she was bringing into my life that
I could be grateful for: her laughter, beauty, sensuality, playfulness, companionship, and so … much … more.

Sadly, I often found it nearly impossible to embrace – or even see – what was so wildly wonderful about her.

I was too focused on the anger, insecurities, demands, and other aspects of her strong personality
that grated on me. The more I focused on her worst, the more I saw of it, and the more I mirrored
it back to her by offering my own worst behavior. Naturally, this only magnified the strain
on our relationship … which still made me choose her even less.

Thus did our nasty death spiral play itself out over five years.

She fought hard to make me choose her. That’s a fool’s task. You can’t make someone choose you,
even when they might love you.
To be fair, she didn’t fully choose me, either. The rage-fueled invective she often hurled at me
    was evidence enough of that.
I realize now, however, that she was often angry because she didn’t feel safe with me.
She felt me not choosing her every day, in my words and my actions, and she was afraid I would abandon her.

    Actually, I did abandon her.

By not fully choosing her every day for five years, by focusing on what bothered me rather than
what I adored about her, I deserted her.

Like a precious fragrant flower I brought proudly into my home but then failed to water,
I left her alone in countless ways to wither in the dry hot heat of our intimate relationship.

I’ll never not choose another woman I love again.

    It’s torture for everyone.

If you’re in relationship, I invite you to ask yourself this question:
“Why am I choosing my partner today?”

If you can’t find a satisfying answer, dig deeper and find one. It could be as simple as noticing
that in your deepest heart’s truth, “I just do.”

If you can’t find it today, ask yourself again tomorrow. We all have disconnected days.

But if too many days go by and you just can’t connect with why you’re choosing your partner,
and your relationship is rife with stress, let them go.
Create the opening for another human being to show up and see them with fresh eyes
and a yearning heart that will enthusiastically choose them every day.

Your loved one deserves to be enthusiastically chosen. Every day.
    You do, too.

    Choose wisely.

  • Roasted Vegetables Recipe

Posted on October 17, 2015 by Wendy

Waking up this morning with the first frost on the ground made me think about what hearty soups
I can make full of delicious root vegetables.

I went searching and found this recipe from House and Garden in the UK so wanted to share it with you.

You can vary the vegetables according to what's in season and what you have to hand. Vegetables like cauliflower or sprouts also roast well. Sumac is a Middle Eastern spice with a mild, almost lemony flavour.
It's available at most large supermarkets in the spice section.
