  • Measure Inches vs Pounds - Part 2

Posted on February 18, 2018 by Wendy

So as the journey of eating healthier continues
I wanted to share some good news with you.

It's not always about your weight, it's
about how you feel in your own skin.

    Sometimes you feel down after
stepping on that scale and it seems
    like nothing is working.

You are eating a more alkaline diet,
you are starting to exercise, you watch
those calories and that darn scale
    doesn't change

If you measure yourself by your weight only
you just might be cheating yourself out of
an achievement you didn't realize was
    taking place.

I decided to take some measurements the
other day and realized I was losing inches
    instead of lbs.

It's crazy how that number on the scale
affects how we think, live, and feel.
I have been the same weight for months
now however didn't see that changes were
taking place because my mind was focused
    on a number.

Start to measure inches instead of pounds.
Start to measure how you feel.
Start to measure what your skin looks like
Start to measure your energy level
Start to measure all the great things going
    on instead of measuring weight

I have to tell you that shopping for
jeans has always been such a stressful
    experience.

Most of my friends wear skinny jeans
and even the thought of skinny jeans
    makes me feel confined.

    With much encouragement from women
who love me I went on the adventure
to find skinny jeans and was pleasantly
surprised at what I saw looking back at
    me in the mirror yesterday.

I even managed to find some high boots
    to accommodate my curvy legs.

I encourage each of you to read more
    about alkaline vs acidic eating,
Add more pH to your life, and
start paying attention to your body
    not the scale

I have lots of recipes on my blog
and in my book to get you started.

    Enjoy!

  • Losing inches vs pounds

Posted on February 10, 2018 by Wendy

As we age the struggle to lose pounds seems to get
    greater as each year passes.

How I remember those days when weight dropped off
just as easy as it was put on.

Our metabolism slows down and changes especially
after menopause hits for us ladies and the ideas of
losing that weight as quick as we gained it is not as
easy as we would like it to be.

I have been charting my weight loss and muscle mass
as I do my best to eat a more alkaline diet and for the
past month the scale stayed the same

I however feel lighter in the mid section and on my buttocks

So this morning I took out the measuring tape and I
actually have lost a couple inches off both.
The scale however said the same.

I have been a bit hard on myself this past month
    thinking why isn't this working?
So I am here today to share with you
it's not always about what the scale says.

I know, as humans we want to chart our success and
say "hey I lost 10 pounds" however if you are losing
inches and body fat and gaining muscle it will be
    a greater story to share.

  • There's a Hole Down That Road

Posted on January 26, 2018 by Wendy

I heard this the other day while listening
to James MacDonald and thought I would share with you.

Such a great analogy of how we walk the road of life and do not
see the holes we fall into.

It takes us a while to realize we keep falling into the
    same holes.

The process to get out of them can be long and then
finally we walk a different road all together.

There's A Hole Down That Road

I walk down the road. There’s a hole down that road.
I don’t see the hole. I fall in the hole.
It’s very deep, and at the bottom, where I lay broken,
it’s cold and dark. I can’t get out.

I walk down the road. There’s a hole down that road.
I see the hole as I am walking down the road.
I fall in the hole. It’s familiar and strangely cosy.
    I can’t get out.

I walk down the road. There’s a hole down that road.
I see the hole as I am walking down the road.
I fall in the hole. I don’t like the hole anymore.
    I want to get out.

I walk down the road. There’s a hole down that road.
I see the hole as I am walking down the road.
I dread falling in the hole. I fall in the hole.
But I look up and decide to get out.

I walk down the road. There’s a hole down that road.
I see the hole as I walk down the road. I say to myself,
“I will not fall in the hole again.” I fall in the hole again.
    I start climbing out.

I walk down the road. There’s a hole down that road.
I see the hole as I walk down the road.
I try not to fall down the hole.
But I fall in the hole again.
I get back out straight away.

I walk down the road. There’s a hole down that road.
I see the hole as I walk down the road.
My foot catches the edge and I fall in the hole.
But I don’t hit the bottom.
I cling to the edge and climb out of the hole.

I walk down the road. There’s a hole down that road.
I see the hole and step over it.
I don’t fall in the hole this time.

I walk down the road. There’s a hole down that road.
I see the hole and step over it.
But I trip. I fall in the hole.
I climb out faster than before.

I walk down the road. There’s a hole down that road.
But I’m not on that road.
I’ve walked down a different road.

  • Your Skin is Your Largest Organ - My Before and After

Posted on January 13, 2018 by Wendy

Did you know your Skin Is Your Largest Organ?

Everything gets filtered thru your skin.

All the toxins of the world, pollution, smoke etc,
build up on your face and can cause wrinkles and make
your face look dull and grey.

Looking after your skin is important. Not just your
    face but all your body.

Make sure you drink enough water to keep it hydrated,
eat an alkaline diet and use a hydrating replenishing
    skin care system.

I wanted to share a Before and After photo with
you of a journey I have been on this past year and a half.

So..... here's my before and after. Crazy aye!

A few months before our wedding a friend introduced me to a new skin care line.

I had seen her before and after photos and thought it was maybe a gimmick
    but she sure looked awesome.

I have always been someone who took good care of my skin
with facial cleanser, toner, creams etc. so decided to give it a try.

I wanted to have a softer glow to my face for the wedding and after
a couple of months I really enjoyed my results.

I also had a couple of clients comment on how soft my face was looking.

After the wedding I decided to continue to use the products and
because I have mature skin over 50 I decided to purchase the
aging serum product and eye cream.

    Then WOW happened!!

It felt amazing. The results were staring me back from the mirror.

I saw my face the other night after a relaxing bath and
    decided to take some photos.

I had my Before photo still in my phone that my friend took
on the first day after a facial and I compared my After photo
and was definitely happy with the results

So I have decided to share with you

I am seriously considering taking on this product
thru Fabulous, Fit & Fantastic Living

The 1st photo is 1 year 9 months ago after a facial hence why a bit of redness
and 2nd photo was this weekend after a relaxing bath. Fabulous results!!

If you would like further information or hear more about what
I have used and done feel free to email me at wendy@wendyladd.com

I would be happy to share with you.
I don't want to be doing a sales pitch on my blog

Just wanted to show you the WOW!!

    Keep on Being Fabulous!

  • IT'S NOT A DIET

Posted on January 2, 2018 by Wendy

    Happy Fabulous New Year!

I hope 2018 brings you all the things your heart desires
Love, Health, Prosperity, Peace and Grace.

Most people are starting off the New Year with
a resolution and the majority of the resolutions are
to "Go on A Diet and lose weight".

I have nothing against New Years resolutions and think
they are excellent ways to begin new programs and set
    new habits for yourself.

The only thing is programs and habits fade and the
novelty wears off and most people seem to be back in the same
place where they started after a few months.

I do understand though that some people actually keep on
the program and keep the new habit so not being Negative on the
    subject

I am not a personal fan of the word Diet. If you have
read my book "Get To Your Natural State of Weight"
you will understand that by telling yourself you are
"On a Diet" your body seems to crave everything it
    cannot have.

There is nothing worse that being focused on the things
you cannot have. Why not focus on What you Can Have?

So I no longer use the word Diet, and changed it to
    Lifestyle.

Why not start your New Year off with a commitment to
    having a Healthier Lifestyle?

Learn how to eat the proper balance of Alkaline vs. Acidic
foods and start feeling the difference in your energy,
aches and pains and recognize how your body reacts when you
    eat processed and sugary foods.

Learn and understand how stress and your emotions
affect how you feel and how your body keeps on weight
    when you are emotionally stressed.

It's not always about what you are eating that
makes you gain weight or feel terrible.
It can be the toxic people you are around
or the situation you are dealing with.

Do your best in 2018 to eliminate the negative
people in your life and stop trying to fix everyone
    and everything.

Stop worrying so much about what other people think
and about what you think. How you feel, what your needs
are and how to be kind to yourself.

You deserve to feel vibrant and alive each day.
I call this process "Getting To Your Natural
State of Weight" - when everything inside is in sync
and performing at its optimal strength.

It's a process and it takes some time to learn.
Once you understand what foods work best for you
and how it all affects your pH level you will find
it much easier to create the Healthy Lifestyle
    you deserve

There are many blogs on my website which you can begin
with to get yourself started. Or if you wish you can
purchase the book "Get To Your Natural State of Weight"
    on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Get-Your-Natural-State-Weight/product-reviews/0992045207/ref=cm_cr_dp_d_show_all_btm?ie=UTF8&reviewerType=all_reviews

It's a quick read with a pH list of foods to get your started

Please feel free to email me if you have any questions as
    well.

I am happy to help get you started.

  • Why your grandparents didn’t have food allergies…but you do

Posted on December 30, 2017 by Wendy

Excellent article by Healthy Holistic Living on why so many of us now
have food allergies and our grandparents didn't.

Nutrition affects EVERY cell in our body.
The health of our cells is dependent on diet and lifestyle.

Cells create tissues; tissues create organs,
and we are made up of a system of organs.

If your nutrition is inadequate, the integrity of each cell,
tissue, and organ in your body will suffer.
Thus you may be MORE sensitive to certain foods.
