  • Lack of Sleep Can Lead to Weight Gain

Posted on March 7, 2017 by Wendy

Do you ever find that when you are feeling over weight you then notice you haven't been sleeping properly?

Have many stressful events been happening in your life and suddenly those couple pounds crept up on you?

Losing out on sleep creates a viscous cycle in your body, making you more prone to various factors
    contributing to weight gain.

The more sleep-deprived you are, the higher your levels of the stress hormone cortisol will be
    which increases your appetite.

When you are tired do you find you go for whatever’s going to be easy and make you feel better in the moment?

Is a bad choice of high fat, high carb foods? Make a commitment to yourself to get those 8 hours of sleep.
It will lower your level of cortisol and You will make better food choices.

Your will power will be higher and our body will Thank You for it.

  • Effects of Bereavement on your Health

Posted on February 25, 2017 by Wendy

There are many effects of bereavement that can strike while you are coping with grief of
a loved one passing. For me it has been an ongoing challenge with my weight after my
    best friend/mother passed recently.

Due to a high release of cortisol from the stress and crying it doesn't even matter how little
I eat or how much I watch what I eat... the weight still finds its way to by butt.

I guess it's a process as everyone keeps saying. Time is the only thing that will help
As you go through your life in a new normal it someone never feels the same.

All I can say is do your best with what you have and you will know when the right time
is for you to make a change. Don't be hard on yourself during the process. It is what
it is. Losing my mother has been the hardest thing I have ever had to endure

Many other grief symptoms are very unnatural and scary, and can even be bizarre. But almost all of them are perfectly normal! No, you're not losing your mind... just going through a normal and healthy grieving process.

Here is a great article sharing the following effects of bereavement.

    I hope it helps.

"I'm exhausted!"-- the physical signs and symptoms of grief

"Are you sure I'm not going crazy?"-- emotional and mental symptoms

"Where are all my friends?" -- social changes

"So where was God during all of this?" -- spiritual challenges

"Is this bizarre, or what?" -- unusual experiences

"Do I need help?" -- warning signs that professional help is needed

  • Be Honest

Posted on February 9, 2017 by Wendy

I love the daily posts from Marc David & Emily Rosen #EatingPsychology

Honesty is acknowledging what is actually happening for you right here, right now. When you're able to be true to who you are, and trust in yourself and your journey, your relationship with food will be more satisfying.

  • How your emotions affect your health

Posted on January 11, 2017 by Wendy

“If someone wishes for good health, one must first ask oneself if he is ready to do
away with the reasons for his illness. Only then is it possible to help him.” ~ Hippocrates

I love this chart showing you how your emotions affect your body.
For whatever illness you are having there is an emotion behind it that has created it.

Take time to learn what the lesson is you need to learn from the emotion and
you will find the pain or illness you are having will ease.

Remember as well to eat a more alkaline diet and this will help in your healing.

  • How Grief affects your Health

Posted on January 3, 2017 by Wendy

I hope that you had a great holiday and I want to wish you a Happy New Year and all the best for 2017.

There seemed to be a lot of conversations around me this year about death and grief
and how it affects your body.

I personally went through a great loss after my mother suddenly passed away last month and I came to
realize and feel within myself personally how grieving can affect your health.

If you do not take notice of it and look after yourself there are some serious complications
to your body that will occur.

I found this fabulous article from Tom Gray from psychcentral.com that I want to share with you
If you are going through any grief from the loss of a loved one this year it will help.

The loss of a loved one is a life-shattering experience. But unbeknownst to many, it affects us
physically as well as emotionally. The grief a person experiences is felt on an emotional level.
The resulting stress of these emotions can create havoc within our bodies.

If we had a physical illness before our loved one died, our grief can exacerbate the existing illness.
It can also open the way for physical illness if we have been previously healthy.

Grief makes us susceptible to diseases such as the common cold sore throats and other infections.
Other diseases shown to be connected to the stress of grief are ulcerative colitis,
rheumatoid arthritis asthma heart disease and cancer.

The connection between the mind and bodyis not always recognized, but there is real scientific evidence
that what we think and feel has a direct effect on our biological systems.

I trust this article will enlighten the reality of how grief affects your health.

Try your best to keep eating an alkaline diet and get your exercise and relaxation time.

  • Supermoon and Himalayan Salt Bath

Posted on November 14, 2016 by Wendy

With the Supermoon fully upon us it is a fabulous time to take a moment to soak up
the healing white light from the moon and also take a Himalayan Salt bath.

Taking a Himalayan Salt bath, or otherwise known as Sole or Brine Baths
in conjunction with certain phases of the moon is known as Moon or Moon Rhythm Bathing.

I was able to take a detox bath last evening and the wonders of relaxation for sleeping were
amazing. During the supermoon period the water remains at the highest temperature
    and the cleansing/sweating was optimum.
This is an excellent way to detox and relax while cleansing your body, mind and soul.

While taking a Himalayan Salt Bath, minerals are absorbed while toxins are released
into the bath water via osmosis. The inside and the outside of your body detoxifies
through this process, while bio-energetic weak points are restored and energy flow is activated.

Statistics say that Himalayan salt is known as the purest salt on earth with
85 plus minerals and the detox effect is equivalent to a 3 day fast.

As my book "How to Get to Your Natural States of Weight" states that acidity cause inflammation and pain
in your body Himalayan salt baths reduce acidity and help balance the pH of your skin.

You will also feel relief of pain, soreness in your muscles and joints as well.
What an excellent way to stimulate circulation as the same time and get moisture back into your skin.

Make sure you have a large glass of water to drink while taking this bath as you will need
    to hydrate yourself while detoxing.

I also like to light a couple small candles to help with the mood.

Combining energies like fire, water, earth and air can also be spiritually cleansing
    as well.

I hope you take time during this November Supermoon to relax and soak in the energy.

Please remember that not everyone can take a Himalayan salt bath and you should Consult a physician if you have heart or circulatory problems. Himalayan Salt Baths can be a little taxing on your circulatory system and may cause slight dizziness afterwards.

  • Word "Diet"

Posted on November 8, 2016 by Wendy

As most of you already know, I am not a fan of the word "diet".

Life is about balance, knowing what your body likes and doesn't like.

Foods that make you feel good and foods that don't agree with you.

If you eat a balance of 75% alkaline and 25% acidic foods your body will love you and you will feel and be much healthier.

No one ever said on their death bed... Oh... I regret I didn't diet more.

Love it! Thanks to the institute for the psychology of eating for their photo.

  • Uplift Your Daughters - Uplift Yourself

Posted on September 1, 2016 by Wendy

I couldn't have had a greater role model as a mother.

As I think back to when I was younger I watched her all the time. She was my hero and still is .

She uplifted me through the self respect she had for herself and self love.
Even though times were not always perfect and I am not a mother myself,
I think of you ladies out there who can make a difference in your daughters life.

Teach her about healthy choices, self respect, self love and worthiness.

Thank you to psychology of eating for the great photo.
